A wheel crowder for a compatible two-way sliding/retractable derail. Linked to the derail, it moves against the opposite rail like a switch point to assist in directing both wheels off the track; both components withdraw together to clear the track.
Features and application limits
- Intended for reviewed applications involving difficult track geometry, such as curves or slopes, or above-normal switching conditions.
- Can connect to an existing compatible sliding derail installation.
- Standard units are not insulated; request an insulated configuration if required.
- A crowder does not increase the associated derail’s rated operating limits.
